Legalization Of Marijuana Pitfalls

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Prop 19, the bill that many hope will be passed to allows marijuana to be legal, could bring about some disasterous consequences. For instance, say while you are driving down the street and you are hit by a delivery man. He had just come off his smoke break and was under the influence of marijuana when he slammed into your car. Sounds ridiculous right? Well if this bill is passed more and more people will be using their smoke breaks to smoke pot.

There was a time in most people’s life when they have smoked marijuana. After growing out of that stage, most of those people would not want to encounter someone who is high on marijuana when they are dealing with a teacher, a police officer, or a doctor.

Despite what most marijuana advocates may say, marijuana is still widely considered a gateway drug. Those working in the rehabilitation field will say that the vast majority of people suffering from a heroin addiction, or a crystal meth addiction, or any other substance abuse problem, started off abusing marijuana. While marijuana may seem harmless, eventually a person who is addicted to marijuana will move on to bigger and more dangerous drugs.

The only real way to handle a marijuana abuse problem is to enroll in an effective drug and alcohol rehab. If you or anyone you know is addicted to marijuana it is vital to get help immediately.

Public Figures Lowering Their Standards To Smoke Marijuana

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Several years ago, Warren Sapp was slotted to be the next big thing. Spots enthusiasts al over the .S. expected Sapp to be in the top five of the 1995 draft, and he probably would have if reports hadn’t surfaced that he hailed a drug test for marijuana. After that news came out, Warren did get drafted, but he wasn’t in the top five, he got picked 12th. And if anyone’s counting, there’s a huge difference, monetarily, between 5th and 12th pick. This could have all been avoided, had Warren Sapp abstained from marijuana.

An addiction to marijuana can cause people to lose focus of their lives, and it can also cause them to reach for other, harder drugs. Marijuana addiction often times leads to an alcohol addiction, or a heroin addiction, just because people are searching for the next, better high.

Warren Sapp’s decision to smoke marijuana gives the impression that he thinks drug abuse is okay. If you disagree with him, and know someone who is in need of help please call 866-422-4650 for more information.

1 Million Dollars Worth of Marijuana Seized

Friday, February 26th, 2010

U.S. Border Patrol Agents seized almost 1 million dollars worth of marijuana on Tuesday. Agents spotted a Chevy Tahoe trying to cross the U.S/Mexican border illegally. When the agents stopped the car, all three passengers fled into Mexico.

There is no way of knowing exactly where this marijuana was destined for, however it is a safe bet that it would have ended up in homes across the country, fueling a marijuana addiction with someone.

Marijuana is still considered a gateway drug, and needs to be treated with the same urgency that people feel towards a heroin addiction or cocaine addiction. If you or someone you know is in need of help for a substance abuse problem please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.
